Dinosaurus Hidup Kembali. Warga Panik

Ilmuwan dari Oxford mengungkapkan bahwa dinosaurus masih bisa dihidupkan kembali melalui penelitian DNA. Ilmuwan Oxford, Alison Woollard percaya bahwa spesies hewan purba ini bisa muncul melalui DNA burung.

Spesies yang mungkin dimunculkan lagi ialah Woolly Mammoths dan peneliti harus dapat mengidentifikasi serta mengubah gen yang ditemukan pada DNA burung modern. Woollard yakin bahwa ilmuwan dapat 'mendesain' gen dari makhluk hidup prasejarah.

Dilansir Telegraph, teori ini lebih memungkinkan ketimbang cerita dalam film Jurrasic Park, di mana peneliti harus mengambil DNA dari darah nyamuk yang mengisap hewan purba puluhan juta tahun lalu.

"Kita tahu bahwa burung adalah keturunan langsung dari dinosaurus," kata Woollard. Ia mengatakan, burung modern memiliki garis keturunan tidak terputus dari fosil hewan seperti velociraptor atau T-Rex.

Lebih lanjut ia mengungkapkan, secara teori peneliti menggunakan pengetahuan tentang hubungan genetik burung dengan dinosaurus untuk 'desain' gen dinosarus. Namun, peneliti mengalami kesulitan untuk memahami gen dinosaurus sepenuhnya pada gen burung modern.

Untuk membuat gen penuh, para ilmuwan harus menggabungkan bersama-sama jutaan fragmen pendek asam nukleat. Proses ini ibarat menyusun puzzle besar yang rumit untuk menghasilkan gen dinosaurus seutuhnya
